San Elizario Athletic Eagles Get Ready for Virtual Fan Support
SAN ELIZARIO, TEXAS – The San Elizario Independent School District Athletic Eagle Teams are now back to in-person training for athletic sports. With the continued COVID-19 pandemic, the San Elizario High School (SEHS) and Ann M. Garcia Enriquez Middle School (GEMS) are cautiously getting athletics started with safety precautions in place. Our primary goal is to ensure that all our student-athletes can participate in the safest environment possible. Therefore, the San Elizario ISD decided to not allow "fans in the stands." The district continues to evaluate all the safety precaution measures to get student-athletes back on the courts and fields and will continue to monitor and adjust to continue to keep our students safe.
To offset not having "fans in the stands," on Wednesday, September the 9th, the San Elizario ISD Board of Trustees approved the purchase of 2 cameras to live stream athletic activities. We have signed an agreement with the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) and they will be installing the cameras in the next couple of weeks. Further information on how to support the SEHS and GEMS athletic Teams virtually will be forthcoming. The cameras for the football field and the main gym will be among the first to be installed. Expanding the installation of cameras in other venues such as the tennis courts, baseball fields, and softball fields is forthcoming. Until the installation of cameras is complete, the San Elizario ISD will be identifying other methods to make all future game information and pictures available to the community.
Future game links will be posted on twitter. Please reference the Athletic Webpage San Elizario Athletic Web-page to be connected to the games and other athletic information.
