San Elizario ISD Trustees Elected to FWTSBA

 

SAN ELIZARIO, TEXAS – Trustees Sandra Licon and Lorenzo Luevano of the San Elizario Independent School District made history as they were elected to key positions during a Far West Texas School Board Association (FWTSBA) training session. Held at the Education Service Center 19, the event brought together trustees from across El Paso and Hudspeth Counties.

Sandra Licon was elected chair while Lorenzo Luevano assumed the role of secretary/treasurer, marking the first time two representatives from San Elizario have been chosen simultaneously for such responsibilities. Board Secretary Sandra Licon states, “It is wonderful to have a seat at the table and work in unison with fellow trustees in the region to advocate for our respective districts and collectively for the students in our beautiful region.”

Mr. Luevano expressed his dedication to community-building, emphasizing the vital role of unified communities in fostering pride and culture. His commitment to serving in the FWTSBA reflects a shared vision of strengthening individual districts and the entire region through collaboration and community engagement. He states, “I strongly believe in building communities because that is where everything starts. Strong and united communities create a wonderful culture and pride.”
