Federal and State Programs

Welcome to Federal and State Programs

Our mission is to provide support to school administration and staff, parents, and students to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines set in place for the district. It is our goal to provide opportunities that will enhance students’ educational accomplishments beginning as early as pre-kindergarten. These programs are designed to promote student achievements in the areas of Language Arts/Reading, Science, and Mathematics, as well as enhance the character education and drug-free curriculum that is addressed in all of our schools.

These allocations, combined with state and local funds, supplement the programs that are currently in place within the district to improve student achievement. Schools with forty percent (40%) or more children from low-income families qualify to provide schoolwide services to all students. Currently, all schools in the San Elizario Independent School District meet this criterion:

            Lorenzo G. Loya Primary
            Lorenzo G. Alarcon Elementary
            Josefa L. Sambrano Elementary
            Alfonso Borrego Sr. Elementary
            Ann M. Garcia-Enriquez Middle School
            San Elizario High School

*The federal and state program funds shall be used to supplement and not supplant non-federal funds that would otherwise be used for activities authorized under sub-parts.
